Born in 1961 in Erbil Province, Mr. Tahran developed an early passion for trade. At just nine years old, during school holidays in the 1970s, he assisted his father, who owned a shop specializing in oil changes and tire repairs. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for his future in business, as he inherited his father’s trade in automobile spare parts. While continuing to work alongside his father, he pursued his education and earned a diploma in management in 1980.
Following his graduation in 1981, Mr. Tahran secured an agency with a Turkish manufacturer specializing in car glass and accessories. As an authorized supplier, he provided car glass to the General Company for Cars Erbil branch, a trade he maintained until 1990. He then expanded his business to include spare parts for American vehicles, particularly Oldsmobile and Chevrolet models, a venture he continued until 1999.
In 1999, Mr. Tahran achieved a major breakthrough in the import and trade of car radiators, generators, and agricultural equipment in Iraq. As a pioneer in the Iraqi radiator market, he played a key role in introducing high-quality products and establishing maintenance workshops in Erbil, setting new industry standards. His range of radiators included various types, such as water, cooling, oil, and air radiators. During this period, he also served as the official agent for the renowned Turkish manufacturer Yatec Automotive Radiators, a partnership that lasted until 2004.
In 2005, he founded Lomina General Trading Company, marking the beginning of a new chapter in international trade. Lomina began sourcing high-quality products from leading manufacturers in China, a strategy that fueled continuous growth. Under Mr. Tahran’s leadership, the company expanded its market reach across Iraq, earning a strong reputation for its commitment to quality, integrity, and customer trust.
Today, Mr. Tahran remains dedicated to upholding these values, ensuring that every product Lomina imports meets the highest standards. His journey, rooted in hard work and a relentless pursuit of excellence, has made him a respected figure in Iraq’s automotive and trading industries.
In 2005, Lomina General Trading Company was established, and work began in importing from Europe ,China ,Turkey and south Korea from distinguished factories.
Mr. Tahran has been and still is searching for quality in any product he imports. Lomina’s trade with Europe & China continued to grow day by day, and the spread of Lomina products in Iraq increased thanks to the quality and good reputation the company gained due to its management based on product quality and honesty in dealing with customers.
